Overview

Decentralized Decisions is Choice Coin's open source software for voting.

Software

Decentralized Decisions is an open-source voting software powered by Choice Coin, and is the focus of the Open Source Software (OSS) Program. To get started with Decentralized Decisions, visit the Choice Coin GitHub or work through the Voting Tutorial and follow the instructions. The SQL code and front-end code are both amendable as needed to suit unique voting platforms.

Decentralized Decisions strives to allow for any organization or community to run consensus decisions in a simple and open method on the blockchain. One way this may work is for each decision to have its own dedicated ASA mirroring the Choice asset. This feature will allow organizations to customize their governance decision as needed, providing customizable voting allocations, methods, and time windows. Ultimately, Choice Coin's goal is to make voting more open and secure.

Introduction

Collective decision making is an important and essential part of groups across the world. Governments, corporations, charities, and many other organizations use voting as a means for making decisions impacting collections of people. Indeed, voting happens across industry – from corporate shareholder meetings to political elections. Fundamentally, voting is a method by which collective information is processed to determine consensus. In fact, voting is paramount because the right to vote is the central tenant of modern democracy.

Choice Coin

A voting token for autonomous organizations, Choice Coin is built on the Algorand Blockchain as an Algorand Standard Asset (ASA). Choice Coin is a digital asset, which is used to solve the decentralized voting problem. The decentralized voting problem refers to a lack of a systemic governance mechanism for decentralized organizations. Thus, Choice Coin provides a mechanism by which decentralized organizations can vote securely using post-quantum cryptography.

Voting Protocol

Decentralized Decisions is an open source voting software that allows organizations to make decisions in a distributed manner. The votes in Decentralized Decisions are recorded on the Algorand Blockchain, which is an open and public distributed ledger. The votes are tabulated using stateful, stateless, and Algogeneous smart contracts. Post-quantum cryptography ensures that voter information is kept secure throughout the entire process.
